Aphrodite had many lovers, but she was married to Hephaestus. Out of Many Lovers, Adonis was one of them.
She was Desperately in Love with Adonis, who was more interested in art Hunting. He never showed any form of affection. She tried in vain to persuade him to love her.
One day, Aphrodite rushed to prevent andonish from going off to hunt, he didn't heed the warning  of Aphrodite and goes for it  , unfortunately the dream came true & he was killed while hunting by wild boar. It is believed to be Ares, lover of Aphrodite as wild boar to kill him.
But Venus didn't stop herself to the loss of her beloved and decides to metamorphose him into a beautiful flower growing from his blood, and which still remains a symbol of her frustrated/Unrequited love.
